Welcome to Pension Edlinger
We are Mignon and Nick, and in 2023 we moved from the Netherlands to Austria, together with our two children Rins (7) and Siem (4). For eleven years, we ran a restaurant business in the Netherlands. We've been in love with Austria for many years. After living in Tyrol for a year, our dream Pension Edlinger in Carinthia came up for sale. We didn’t have to think long before deciding to purchase it. A few months later, we welcomed our first guests!
The small but charming Pension Edlinger is a Bed & Breakfast with a bar and beer garden in Mallnitz, right in the middle of the Hohe Tauern National Park. All rooms are non-smoking, and we offer free Wi-Fi and parking for cars and bicycles. Are you looking for a place where you'll feel at home the moment you arrive? Then Pension Edlinger is the right place for you! Our range of rooms and apartments is diverse, so there's always accommodation that fits your needs.
Looking for a sustainable vacation? Mallnitz is easily accessible by train, and we offer a free shuttle service from the station to the pension.
Our garden with a terrace and playground invites you to enjoy a cozy après-ski or a drink in the sun while your children play happily.
In the summer, you can enjoy long hikes through the valley, to mountain huts and alpine meadows, or even higher up to mighty mountain peaks.
In winter, we offer free access to the Mallnitz Tauernbad and sauna, which are open daily from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM. With Alpine Pearls, we also provide our guests with an exciting program for non-skiers or cross-country skiers, such as snowshoe hikes in the Seebachtal and the National Park's winter program.
The ski bus stops right in front of our door and takes you to the family-friendly Ankogel ski area in just a few minutes. It's worth mentioning that this area has gained cult status in the freeride scene. You can also take the ski bus to the Mölltal Glacier, where you can ski 330 days a year.

In One Week from Salzburg via Mallnitz to Grado.
The route leads us from Salzburg City of Mozart (elev. 425 m) through the Salzachtal and Gasteinertal valleys to Böckstein. From here we take an 11-minute train ride to Mallnitz (1,191 m), before biking again from Carinthia via Spittal a. d. Drau, Villach and Arnoldstein to the Austrian-Italian border. Now on Italian soil, the route leads us – occasionally along abandoned railway lines – via Tarvisio, Gemona, Udine and Aquileia to Grado on the Adriatic Sea. Our companions along the way are idyllic towns, imposing sights and magnificent natural landscapes!
Pension Edlinger offers a good free parking spot for your bike. With our nice bar & biergarten you can relax and enjoy Mallnitz for one night. The next day you are able to bike towards your next destination Spittal a.d. Drau or Villach.
