We are Mignon and Nick, and we moved from the Netherlands to Austria in 2023 with our two children, Rins (7) and Siem (4). For eleven years, we ran a restaurant in the Netherlands. We have been in love with Austria for many years. After living in Tyrol for a year, our dream guesthouse, Pension Edlinger in Carinthia, was put up for sale. We didn't have to think twice about buying it. A few months later, we welcomed our first guests!
The small but charming Pension Edlinger is a bed and breakfast with a bar and beer garden in Mallnitz, in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park. All rooms are smoke-free, and we offer free Wi-Fi and parking for cars and bicycles. Are you looking for a place where you feel at home the moment you arrive? Then Pension Edlinger is the right place for you! We offer a wide range of rooms and apartments. There's always accommodation to suit your needs. Dogs are welcome upon request.
Want a sustainable vacation? Mallnitz is easily accessible by train. We offer a free shuttle service from the train station to the guesthouse.
Our garden with terrace and playground invites you to enjoy a relaxing après-ski or a drink in the sun while your children play happily.
In summer, you can enjoy kilometer-long hikes through the valley, to huts and alpine meadows, or even higher to mighty mountain peaks.
In winter, we offer free access to the Mallnitz Tauernbad swimming pool and sauna, open daily from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. With Alpine Pearls, we also offer our guests an interesting program for non-skiers or cross-country skiers, as well as snowshoe hikes in the Seebach Valley and the National Park's winter program.
The ski bus stops right outside and takes you to the family-friendly Ankogel ski area in just a few minutes. It's worth mentioning that this area has developed cult status in the freeride scene. You can also take the ski bus to the Molltal Glacier. Here, you can ski 330 days a year.

Ciclovia Alpe Adria Cycle Route
From Salzburg to Grado in One Week
The route leads from the Mozart city of Salzburg (425 m) through the Salzach Valley and the Gastein Valley to Böckstein. From here, it's an 11-minute train ride to Mallnitz (1,191 m) and then again by bike across Carinthia to Spittal an der Drau, Villach, and Arnoldstein on the Austrian-Italian border. On Italian soil, the route leads—partly along abandoned railway lines—via Tarvisio, Gemona, Udine, and Aquileia to Grado on the Adriatic Sea. Along the way, you'll find idyllic towns, impressive sights, and imposing natural landscapes!
Pension Edlinger offers ample free parking for your bike. Our lovely bar and beer garden allows you to relax and enjoy Mallnitz for a night. The next day, you can cycle to your next destination. Spittal an der Drau or Villach.
